This month we're highlighting our newest resource:
BookBrowse for Libraries!
BookBrowse is our one-stop spot for book recommendations, book reviews, supplementary materials for book clubs, and search tools specially designed to help you find books you’ll love.

Special sections include recently released books, and notable books publishing soon, recommended reading by genre, time period, setting, and theme, handpicked read-alikes for both books and authors, reading guides, advice for book clubs, and online discussions.
The Basics:

  • Required: Just follow the link!
  • What’s Offered: Reading suggestions, book club recommendations, and title lists
  • Plus!: Stay up-to-date on books news and reviews via the emagazine, newsletters, and blog
Try It Out!!

  • Find Read-alikes: You’ve read Where the Crawdads Sing and you’ve watched the movie, so now you want to find a book that’s similar. Type the title into the search box and click “Go!” Click on the title in the search results to visit the book’s page. Scroll down to the Read-alikes section and check out some more great titles!
  • Build a Better Book Club: Visit the Book Clubs menu at the top to visit Book Club Central for special features. Take the guesswork out of picking a title with Book Club Recommendations or browse for in-depth discussion guides by Genre, Theme, and Setting. If you’re starting a new book club, be sure to check out the Advice page!
  • Mix It Up: Can’t decide what to read? Under Genres, click Surprise Me! for a random reading suggestion. Click it as many times as you want. If you see a book you like, click the link under to “Search for this book in Calcasieu Parish Public Library.” It automatically searches the catalog for you, so you don’t have to worry about typing anything in!
Check out the video below for a quick tutorial!!
