Resource of the Month
This month we’re highlighting the latest readers advisory resources: NoveList Plus & NoveList K-8!
NoveList Plus  and NoveList K-8 are your destination for book recommendations!

NoveList’s unique story elements like appeal, genre, and theme make it easy for you to find the kinds of books you are interested in!
The Basics:

  • Required: A Library Card (If using outside of the library.)
  • What’s Offered: Reading suggestions, Accelerated Reader information, and title lists
  • Plus!: View information directly in the catalog!
  • Tutorials: NoveList Plus | NoveList K-8

NoveList PLUS

  1. Listen Up: Log in to NoveList Plus, and look to the left sidebar for Recommended Reads Lists – tabbed by Fiction & Nonfiction and sorted by age-range. There are even lists for audiobooks! If you want to browse audiobooks as a whole, however, you can hover over “Browse By” at the top then click “Audiobooks.” You’ll now see all audiobook-related lists and content. You can also find “Listen-alikes” for titles you’ve recently enjoyed.

  • Buzzy Books: Did you hear about a book on a TV show, but you missed the title and author? Don’t fret! At the top of NoveList Plus, hover over “Quick Links” then click “Explore Pages.” Scroll down to “Media Mentions” and click to visit the page. You can find lists of books mentioned by Media Outlet or Show Title.

NoveList K-8 PLUS

NoveList Plus has titles for all ages, but NoveList K-8 provides a much more streamlined experience that helps parents and students find titles they’re looking for.

Need to browse by Accelerated Reader levels?
  • Go to “Advanced Search.” You can enter any specifics you want.
  • For now, we’ll scroll down and check the “Limit to” box for “Ages 9-12.”
  • Let’s also check the box for “Fiction” under it.
  • Scroll down a bit more until you find the box for “Accelerated Reader (ATOS) Book Level.”
  • If you have an exact book level to enter, e.g. 4.2, you can input it. However, if your student can read at multiple fourth-grade levels, type in 4*. The * wildcard will show you any title at any of the fourth-grade reading levels.
  • Click the green “Search” button to see the results.
  • The “Check Availability” option will let you know if we have any copies!
