The Basics:

  • Articles, media, and resources for research
  • In the News features

Availability:

  • Website on PCs laptops, tablets, & smartphones

Try It Out!

Fun and Friendly Facts:

  • Once logged in, click on Young Adults at the level landing page.
  • Scroll down to the In the News section and click on the title.
    • This feature covers current events and recent discoveries with related topics. 
  • Click on Word of the Day to build your vocabulary and keep scrolling to play a game related to the news topic.
    • Game types include crossword puzzles, word searches, and Wordrow (a version of Wordle).


Watch This:

  • Go back to the main page for Young Adults. If you scroll further, you’ll also find the Video of the Week.
    • Videos give students brief overviews of subjects that may include upcoming holidays, such as the history of Labor Day.


Quick Look:

  • Britannica also offers At a Glance collections of articles on a broad topic.
    • You can scroll down and find the featured collection then click on the link for More at a Glance Collections.
    • Even easier: type “at a glance” in the search bar at the top.
    • Be sure to check out the one on the solar system: there’s an interactive feature comparing the planets!
