RESOURCE OF THE MONTH
To celebrate National Book Month, we’re highlighting our Books & Authors resource!
The Basics:
Required: Library Card for access outside the library

What’s Offered: Title and series read-alikes| Browse for titles by genre | Book lists and award winners | Advanced Search by Audience, Location, Character, and more

Availability: Desktop browsers | Mobile-ready website

Tutorial: Click here

While you try it out.....
Fall Finds: Need a great read for the cooler weather? On the landing page, go to the Select a Genre menu to the left. Click on Mystery Fiction. You can scroll to find a subgenre or type one in to filter. Enter "cozy" in the text box under Mystery fiction. The site automatically starts filtering! Click on “Cozy Mystery” to view some titles.

Local Literature: Let’s look at all the options for Advanced Search.
First, click on the link next to the search box. You can find recent middle-grade books set in Louisiana by using the following limiters, then clicking the blue Search button:
  • Publication year(s): After - 2020
  • By book category and genre: Fiction
  • By audience: Children
  • By location: Louisiana
Tip: This is quicker if you start typing it in instead of scrolling.
For Friends: Found some good stuff you want to share with your bibliophile buddy? Look for the Get Link icon to the far right. It creates a permanent link for you to share (or bookmark) for anything, including individual title read-alikes, specific search results, and even browsing filters.
